2015 has been a tremendous year for the Group – here are some of the highlights:

Another massively successful Family Hog Roast in September to round off a superb summer. I want to say that watching the kids charge about is a bit like watching pigs in poo, but I suspect that’s a bit disrespectful to the pig. At explorers on Thursday, County Ducks were very fortunate to be visited by Iain Duncan Smith (the Conservative MP for Chingford and Woodford Green) and Bilal Mahmood (the Labour candidate). It was really interesting to learn more about the British political system and have the opportunity to ask questions about the issues that are important to young people, as these issues are often ignored in televised debates. The evening also helped to break down the stereotypes that are often associated with politicians, and helped us learn that their backgrounds are …

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our annual St Georges day parade from Walthamstow Town Hall to Lloyd Park. We hope you enjoyed the games and singing. It was inspiring to see so many awards being presented. There are some great photos here.

Every summer we hold a weekend long camp with lots of great activities, from climbing to canoeing, inflatables to archery, and our own version of It’s a Knockout. It’s for kids and parents alike where everyone mucks in and enjoying yourself is compulsory! We’re back at Tolmers camp site this year and if anyone has ideas for the weekend or wants to get more involved please get in touch with Ian Bennett. More details to follow soon.
